Zach Fitzgerald

Zach Fitzgerald Piercer

Zach Fitzgerald’s earliest experience with piercing was pretty common: The year was 1996. The world was reeling with the news of Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorcing, theaters were selling out tickets to blockbusters like Independence Day, boomboxes blasted “Tha Crossroads” by Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and Zach was officially inducted into the cool-kidz club (“First rule about cool kidz club, blah blah blah…”) with his super-fresh diamond ear piercing. While it was originally his mom’s idea to pierce young Zach’s left lobe, little did she know she had opened the floodgates to his love of body adornment.

Years later, Zach found himself looking for a way to combine those interests into a career. He was able to establish himself at a studio where he completed an apprenticeship. The bulk of his free time was spent seeking out as much information he could on the history, process, and cultural significance of piercing while connecting with other members of the piercing community. In 2014, Zach attended the annual Association of Professional Piercers Conference and Exposition as an Al. D Scholarship recipient, and he has returned as a volunteer in years since. He has spent his time working at Satori Ink in Bethlehem, PA, and both Fyre Body Arts and Black Cat Collective, in Perkasie.

In Zach’s free time he enjoys adventures with his baby girl, Molly, an American Staffordshire Terrier, and Vienna, his miniature Dachshund. He likes watching too much television, eating pizza and sushi (at the same time), being cynical, and trying to solve life’s great mysteries—like the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. If Zach has your phone number, believe that there is a strong chance he might hit you up to babysit his dog. Did we mention he loves his dogs?
