Nipple Piercing

While it is sometimes said that women of the Victorian Era sported nipple piercings, there is little credible evidence to support this. (More on this factoid here.) More likely than not, the nipple piercing is a modern invention which was popularized by men in the gay leather community in the 1970s but has gained popularity among both sexes in the decades since. Despite what many people assume, nipple piercings do not tend to be especially painful—and are often even easier to sit through for women—but they do take some time to heal and placement is crucial to ensure happy and healthy piercings.
