Infinite's January 2018 Guests

Infinite's January 2018 Guests

As we shoulder on through the winter and through the first month of the new year, we have a slew of guests covering piercing shifts at Infinite Body Piercing. Here's a quick rundown on Infinite's January 2018 guests.

First, we'd like to thank Jake Hardman for making the trip from Florida to welcome in the new year. Jake came to us from Eustis, Florida, where he is the owner of Drift Piercing Studios. Jake was here from December 27 through January 6—which was just long enough for him to catch the big snow! Thanks to Jake for making it through a very non-Florida two weeks.

Next, we have the amazing Ismael Vargas piercing at Infinite from January 10 through 20, 2018.

Ishmael Vargas visits Infinite Body Piercing

Ismael writes:

"I’m happy going back to a great city like Philadelphia.

"I was born and raised in Mexico city, surrounded by ancestral traditions and culture. My curiosity, as well as my passion, began to grow at an early age thanks due to the countless visits at the Museo Nacional de Antropologia (the National Museum of Anthropology), looking at all the ornaments (jewelry) that were used in another time.

"My professional career began around 2008 in different studios such as Mexica Tiahui, Dayaks, Tercer Ojo Crew. In 2014, I received the Al.D scholarship to attend the Annual APP Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas. To this day I am part of the volunteers.

"In 2017, I decided to begin traveling to share, learn and improve my skills. In return this allowed me to visit awesome places such as Philadelphia, San Francisco, Portland, Denver and countries such as Germany and London. During this traveling I fell in love with a beautiful woman from New York. I decided to move there, hoping it’s easy travel from there to anywhere. I’m used to the pace of a big city and it all sounded like a perfect plan.

"One of the things that keeps my passion for piercing and its practice is that, no matter how many times you do the same piercing, each one will always be the first. Plus the experience, the moment you share with each person is unique and unrepeatable. All of the piercings I do become my favorite if it achieves the smile of those who trust me and my work.

"In my spare time I read, bike and enjoy life ...That's why we're all here, right?"

After Ismael, we have Brian Fowler back at Infinite Body Piercing. He'll be here from January 17 to 29, 2018.

Brian writes:

"Not too much has changed since my last visit: still awesome, still bowling, still playing music! I have a new band (Project Failure) that's way better then Lost Socks. Hopefully we will record soon so you can check it out. The only big change is I am no longer working on social media for the APP. I'm hoping for bigger and better things as far as service work goes. My son, Bane, recently turned five and is crazy awesome. It's been one year since I became full partner at Brand X Tattooery & Piercing Parlour, LLC and it feels amazing. I have lots of plans and changes coming this year for the business and I'm super excited about it."

After Brian, we're welcoming back Anna York. She will be piercing at Infinite from January 24 to February 3, 2018.

Infinite guest Anna York and friend

Anna has visited us before, and she's always a welcome guest. Originally from Immaculate Body Piercing in South Carolina, Anna relocated to Portland, Oregon in the great Pacific Northwest in 2014. Formerly piercing out of Adorn Body Art, she now resides at Robot Piercing and Tattoo. Since her apprenticeship in 2007, Anna has been an active volunteer and member of the Association of Professional Piercers. We're excited to have her back.

Stay tuned for our February guests as we continue the quest to find a permanent piercer to fill our vacant piercing position. Lastly, if you're a piercer looking for a home and have at least five years of piercing experience, are open to moving to Philadelphia, and have the chops to work at a professional high-volume studio, contact us. We'd love to hear from you!
