:: Triangle ::

Like the clitoris, the correctly done triangle piercing can be intense to get and deliriously stimulating to have. Also like the clitoris, the triangle is an advanced piercing and is serious business.

Visually the piercing looks like a low horizontal hood piercing. It is placed through the base of the hood, approximately even with the top of the opening over the clitoris. The jewelry provides sensation by pressing along the underside of the clitoral shaft. [The shaft can be felt by using your thumb and forefinger to squeeze the hood behind the clitoris, and moving that skin up and down. That rather hard "rod" of tissue which slopes up and back into the pelvis is the clitoral shaft.] Needless to say, this piercing can dramatically heighten erotic sensations for the wearer.

While this piercing may sound enticing, not many women are anatomically suited for it. The determining criteria are similar to those of a horizontal hood. The hood must be large and protrude significantly outside the outer labia when the legs are closed. Large outer labia or large inner thighs may interfere with the placement of jewelry and make healing impossible. Furthermore, the clitoral shaft must be able to be pulled away from the body (i.e. you must be able to get your fingers around behind it). Otherwise, the procedure will be precarious or impossible.

The triangle is a very difficult piercing to perform, and not every piercer has the knowledge (or desire) to do so. If you are considering this piercing, talk to your piercer first. See if he/she feels you are anatomically suited for it. Make sure the piercer has experience with this particular piercing, and ask to see photos of the results. The triangle is NOT a piercing to undertake lightly. Make sure both you and your piercer know what you are doing. Done poorly, this piercing can be painful and possibly damaging. Done well it can be elegant and extremely stimulating. Do your research!
