:: Fourchette ::

The fourchette piercing is placed where the inner labia meet at the bottom, under the vaginal opening. Many women (but not all!) have a pronounced pinchable lip of skin that is well suited for jewelry.

Jewelry selection is similar to inner labia piercings. A 12g or 10g captive is often the best choice, with a small enough diameter that it doesn't get in the way during healing. To keep pressure during sex to a minimum, many women use a barbell for healing. With this jewelry choice the balls must be large enough not to pull through the piercing.

Technically fourchette tissue heals rapidly, but the amount of abuse this piercing gets may significantly delay healing. Some sitting positions, body suits or tight jeans, g-strings and riding bikes can all put painful pressure on the spot. Healing can also be slowed down by too much sexual activity (specifically vaginal penetration). Some women (and their partners) love the way the jewelry rolls inside the vaginal opening during penetration, but caution (and fluid safety!) is suggested until the piercing is fully healed.
