Ear Piercings

Ear piercings are one of the oldest and most popular types of piercing worldwide. In fact, evidence of ear lobe piercings can be found among indigenous populations all over the world, and they have been practiced almost everywhere up to the present day.

For that reason you may believe you already know “all there is to know” about ear piercings. However, because ears are often the first piercing people get, they are often the ones people have the most questions about, and problems with. And ear cartilage piercings are their own beasts, with their very own set of rules. In this section we hope to help you avoid the usual mistakes, and dispel some of the misinformation out there.

The image (above) gives you a good idea what the various types of ear piercings are, and where they are located. To learn more about each piercing simply visit any of our tertiary ear navigation pages, housed under “Piercing” and “Ear,” where you are now. (You can also click on any of the hyperlinks below.)

Our ear cartilage page and ear FAQ page are designed to help answer some of the most common ear piercing questions and concerns , and help you choose what piercing is best for you and your lifestyle.
