  1. Happy Holidays 2017

Zach wearing a string of holiday lightsHappy holidays to all of our clients, friends, and family. We’ve been as busy as ever in 2017 and the holiday season is no different. So before we all get swept away in the bustle of the festivities, we’d like to take this time to share some studio news about upcoming events, hours, and guests.

First up, we’d like to officially announce that we are now hiring. Robert has moved on to bigger and better things, so we are currently accepting résumés for the open full-time piercing position. Five years experience is preferred but if you are interested in being considered for the position, please email your résumé and portfolio to This also means that we’ll be hosting several guest piercers—both old favorites and new faces—in the coming months.

Paul from Bound for Glory Tattoo in Staten Island will be joining us for the first week of December, from the 6-9, 2017. If you were at the APP Conference & Exposition earlier this year, you might remember him from the banquet dinner where he was the lucky winner of not one, not two, but three raffle drawings! Paul’s love of piercing began back in the mid ’90s when he first started getting pierced. He has been piercing since 1999, has attended the Fakir Intensives in San Francisco, and has been volunteering with the APP for three years now. He was an Al D scholar back in 2015 and has been part of the AV department at Conference for the last two years. Paul sums up his piercing career best on his own website’s bio page, “For 18 years, I have made every effort to stay ahead of the curve; evolving with the industry. I am not a tattoo artist. I don’t have a second job. I truly love what I do and it shows in my work.” Besides piercing, Paul has three other main hobbies: hockey, curling, and, in his words, summarizing movies he’s never seen; and you can bet we’ll be testing him on the last one.

Johnross, the elfWe’ll also be welcoming back one of our favorite guests, Johnross Switz from Mean Street Tattoo & Piercing in Bensalem, PA. By now, you probably know him as well as we do and are just as excited to be welcoming him back to the studio once again. Johnross will be here from December 12-16, 2017, so make sure to stop in and see him while he’s here.

Finally, the Holiday season wouldn’t be complete without our annual staff holiday party. This year we’ll be hitting another local favorite, Nam Phuong, and will be closing early on Sunday December 17, 2017 for the party. Don’t forget to mark your calendars with our other special holiday hours below.

  2. Chris Jennings and Kali Taylor Return

Kali Taylor & Chris Jennings at Longwood GardensIn the interim between Ed’s last day and John’s return, we will be hosting several guest piercers at Infinite. Our January guests include Chris Jennings, who will be covering the first two weeks of January from the 3-14, and Kali Taylor from the 17-28. They are currently traveling the U.S. together in an RV doing guest spots at some of our favorite shops and—luckily for us—they have added a stop in Philadelphia. Chris Jennings and Kali Taylor return!

Neither Chris nor Kali is a stranger to Infinite; while Chris has visited us several times over the years, Kali is a former Infinite alumna of seven years. Chris has been piercing for over fifteen years and has worked at so many renowned studios across the country it’s difficult to name them all. A few of his most recent guest spots include 23rd Street Body Piercing in Oklahoma City, OK, Deep Roots Tattoo & Piercing in Seattle, WA and most recently Supernatural Body Piercing in Kansas City, MO. He always brings a great enthusiasm to the shop, and his piercing skills can’t be beat.

  3. Happy Holidays 2016

Maddie and Water-cooler SantaHappy Holidays 2016 from the crew at Infinite Body Piercing! The holiday season is a time to cherish, rejoice and reunite with our loved ones. If we’re able (and willing), we may even travel thousands of miles to come together with friends and family during these festive few weeks. Here at Infinite, we are no different; we consider each other family. Whether we’re ringing in the new year together or crashing what is likely to be another amazing dinner at Ed’s, we are lucky to be a part of such a tight-knit crew.

As you read last week, we will soon be saying goodbye to Ed Chavarria as he begins the next part of his life’s journey. Though we are sad to see him go, with every end comes a new beginning. We were happy had to have one last get-together with Ed and the rest of the staff at our annual holiday party, hosted by the amazing chefs at Green Basil on South Street. (Definitely get the Massaman curry when you go there.) (more…)

  4. Creepin’ It Real

The Infinite Body Piercing staff at Halloween 2015At Infinite, it’s no secret how we feel about Halloween. As you come upon the studio, you see our windows adorned with skulls, cobwebs, tombstones and a ghoul or two suspended from the ceiling. Step inside and you’ll likely hear The Monster Mash playing as we welcome you to the shop, ready for all of your piercing needs. It’s the season of all things strange and unusual—and we all love it. We’re creepin’ it real.

Kali Taylor, Halloween 2013With Philadelphia’s colonial past and centuries-old buildings, we’re a city that appreciates a good ghost story. You can find hauntings throughout the city from the Laurel Hill Cemetery, where they celebrate the dearly departed year-round, to Eastern State Penitentiary, with a past so rife with ghostly sightings that it’s been featured on both the Travel Channel and SyFy’s Ghost Hunters. Even tourism hot spots like Independence Hall are suspected to be stalked by the spirits of America’s past. Rather than shying away from the supernatural, Philadelphia celebrates it with excellent ghost tours and haunted houses. (more…)

  5. Nicholas the Geezer

Nicholas the GeezerHe’s a traveler, a proud husband, and a phenomenal piercer, and this Spring, he’s coming to a studio near you! Nicholas the Geezer will be guest piercing at Infinite Body Piercing from May 13 to May 23, 2016. From his bio:

Nicholas has been into body piercing for as long as he can remember. He was born in The Brass City: Waterbury, CT in 1986. He spent his early years on a farm in rural Bethlehem, CT. It was there he saw his first piercings and tattoos on the various characters that frequented the farm. Soon after, Nicholas had his fourth grade career day, which he spent in a local tattoo shop asking questions and watching while his extremely supportive mother spent all 8 hours of it waiting patiently in the lobby. He knew this was where he belonged, but in what context?
